Al-Qaida takes responsibility of attack on Hebdo

Al-Qaida has taken the responsibility of the attack on the satirical news magazine Charlie Hebdo by saying that it had directed the attack “as revenge for the honour” of Prophet Muhammad.

It has also warned of more attacks if the “abuse of Muslims continues”.

Cherif Kouachi, one of the attackers, had claimed before his death that he was financed by Yemeni Qaida preacher Anwar alAwlaki.
His older brother, Saeed, was trained by a Qaida affiliate in Yemen in 2011.
