Defence deals between India and US signed during Obamas visit
During the visit of US President Barack Obama to India both the countries signed defence related deals.
Indo-US defence deal
According to the deal India and US have decided to start up joint manufacturing of four relatively modest military products.
They have also decided to explore the development of two more high end technologies.
Two countries agreed to:
- set up joint combat exercises
- maritime security endevours
- intelligence sharing mechanisms
- military exchanges
- Defence Trade and Technology initiative (DTTI)
Defence Trade and Technology initiative (DTTI)
- DTTI will be launched with four “pathfinder projects”
- Four products will be produced.
