Lok Sabha passed the Negotiable Instruments (Amendment) Bill, 2015. The Bill provides for filing of cheque bounce cases at the place where a cheque is presented for clearance and not the place of issue.

Arnold Scaasi, the Canadian Fashion Designer, died on 4 August 2024 following cardiac arrest in New York. He was 85. Scaasi was known for his exuberant creations that were worn by socialites and Hollywood stars.
