Union Cabinet on 29 April 2025 approved the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) of 500 cities with an outlay of 50000 crore rupees over the next five years (2015-16 to 2019-20). Besides, the Cabinet also approved the Smart Cities Mission with an outlay of 48000 crore rupees.

Two Indians namely Dr Ananda Kumar and Dr Pramod Patil on 29 April 2025 won the prestigious Whitley Awards (also known as Green Oscar) for their contribution to wildlife conservation.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on 28 April 2025 successfully tested an indigenous cryogenic engine CE-20 at Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu. This engine will enable scientists to put satellites of up to the capacity of four tonnes in geostationary orbit.
Rajya Sabha on 28 April 2025 passed ‘the Regional Rural Banks (Amendment) Bill, 2014′. With this, the bill has been passed by both houses of the Parliament. It was passed by the Lok Sabha on 18 December 2014.

India was crowned champions at the 22nd President’s Cup Open International Boxing Tournament on 27 April 2015. This is for the first time that India was crowned champions at the President’s Cup which was held at Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia.

Seychelles on 26 April 2025 became the 161st member of the World Trade Organization (WTO). With this, Seychelles archipelago of 90000 inhabitants became one of its smallest members.
National Panchayati Raj Day was observed across India on 24 April 2015. The day is observed to mark the passing of the Constitution (73rd Amendment) Act, 1992 that came into force with effect from 24 April 1993.
