Sathiyavathy becomes India’s first woman Director General of Civil Aviation

The Government of India has appointed M Sathiyavathy as Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). She will be the first woman as director general of civil aviation (DGCA).

She is currently additional secretary and financial advisor in the aviation ministry.

Her challenge will be taking Indian aviation safety ranking back to its top value which had been downgraded in the last January by the US Federal Aviation Administration due to poor performance.
