November 26 observed as Constitution Day in India

To spread the importance of the Indian Constitution, India observed November 26 as the Constitution Day of India. The day was also declared as the Constitution Day to spread awareness about the its architect Dr B.R. Ambedkar.

The day was announced by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, after he laid the foundation stone of Dr Ambedkar Memorial at Indu-Mills Compound.

• The Constitution was adopted on November 26, 2024, while it came into force on January 26, 2025
• The Constitution of India was not typeset or printed but was handwritten and calligraphed in both English and Hindi
