World Economic Situation and Prospects (WESP)The United Nations (UN) released Mid-2015 World Economic Situation and Prospects (WESP) update. In the release, it has highlighted that world economy continues to grow at a modest pace.
According to a United Nations report – “India and the MDGs – Towards a Sustainable Future for All”, India is set to cut poverty by half by the end of 2015, as compared to 2000 figures, but still it needs to do more to improve education and empower women.
The UN top court ruled that Serbia and Croatia did not commit genocide against each other’s people during the wars that sparked by the breakup of former Yugoslavia. The ruling is expected to help put to rest long prevailing hostility between the Balkan neighbours.
