The Union Cabinet on 2 July 2015 approved the institutional framework for the National Skill Development Mission 2015. The Mission will provide a strong institutional framework at the Centre and States for implementation of skilling activities in the country.
Union Government launched weather alert service NOWCAST
Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh on 18 June 2015 launched a weather alert service named NOWCAST. NOWCAST will be used to send SMS alerts on extreme weather data like hailstorm, thunderstorm and squall originated by India Meteorological Department (IMD) to over one crore farmers whose mobile numbers are registered on government’s mKisan portal.

Union Cabinet approved Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) of 500 cities
Union Cabinet on 29 April 2015 approved the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) of 500 cities with an outlay of 50000 crore rupees over the next five years (2015-16 to 2019-20). Besides, the Cabinet also approved the Smart Cities Mission with an outlay of 48000 crore rupees.

Rajya Sabha on 28 April 2015 passed ‘the Regional Rural Banks (Amendment) Bill, 2014’. With this, the bill has been passed by both houses of the Parliament. It was passed by the Lok Sabha on 18 December 2014.
