Pakistan conferred highest civilian award Nishan-e-Pakistan on Chinese president Xi Jinping

Pakistan on 21 April 2015 conferred its top civilian award Nishan-e-Pakistan on Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Nishan-e-Pakistan

The award was conferred for his outstanding contribution in promotion of relationship between the two countries.

The award was presented by the President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain at the President House during the award giving ceremony.

The award ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, federal ministers, members of National Assembly and Senate, services chiefs and Chinese delegation.

Earlier, in 2013 the award was presented to Li Keqiang, Premier of the People’s Republic of China.

Nishan-e-Pakistan

  • It is the highest of civil awards and decorations given by the Government of Pakistan for the highest degree of service to the country and nation of Pakistan.
  • The award was established in 1957.
