On 12 January 2015, Election Commission of India has announced the dates of Delhi Legislative Assembly elections 2015.
Chief Election Commissioner V.S. Sampath announced the dates of election for 70 seats of Delhi Assembly at the Nirvachan Sadan.
Voting will be held in a single phase that is on 7 February 2015 and counting of the votes will be held on 10 February 2014.
Last date for filling nomination form is 21 January 2015 while last date for withdrawal of nominations form is 24 January 2015 as per election commission notification
The elections will be held a week ahead of the scheduled termination of President’s rule.
Delhi was under President rule since 17 Feb 2014 after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the office on 14 February 2014.
Resignation was served only within 49 days after forming government in Delhi
