China on 12 June 2015 unveiled the 800-year-old Buddha statue (Qianshou Guanyin) famous for its 1000 hands in Dazu County in Sichun province. The statue is listed as World Heritage sites by UNESCO in 1999.
The statue was unveiled after it was restored by Chinese experts in seven years at an expense of 60 million yuan (9.8 million US dollar).
The restoration work of the statue, one integral part of the Dazu Rock Carvings, was started on 18 April 2008.
